Recognizing Sheets for her work with the Elkins Depot Welcome Center and the Elkins community, Mayor Van Broughton awarded her a key to the City, commending both past and recent contributions. “The Welcome Center is a great asset to the Elkins community and Sue Sheets has been an amazing leader of the organization, ” he said.
Sheets contributed to the Welcome Center first through her role on the Board of Directors as an effective member. Without question Sheets has given countless hours through her role as President since 2014, actively engaging the community and visitors of Elkins. A major contributor to the Center’s success Sheets continues to further the Welcome Center’s mission and goal of community integration and a positive tourist experience.
