THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER FROM THE ELKINS DEPOT WELCOME CENTER
It’s Springtime in the Mountains
The days are getting longer and warmer! Soon spring flowers will paint the mountains with bright colors. Events pick up as Randolph County’s communities celebrate the changing of the season. For upcoming March events, keep scrolling! Not only do activities increase, but we only have one month before trains run again! We are ready for some warmth and sunshine!
Maple Syrup Season
In late winter when the nights are freezing and the days are sunny the maple sap begins to flow and the maple syrup producers begin boiling. The community of Pickens has hosted an annual Maple Syrup Festival in March for over 30 years, and there are even more ways to find maple syrup made in Randolph County! Thousands of gallons of maple syrup are made every year by local producers both small and large. Click on the blog below to find out where you can get your maple syrup fix!
